The aim of this project is to establish the necessary telecommunication infrastructures to provide Broadband internet access service to those areas in the Basque Autonomous Community territory that do not have it.
The potential users of the service are all those people who are residents in the defined coverage area. All agricultural, livestock, business or industrial installations are also potential users of the service as well as public and administrative entities that service the defined area. It is therefore a network deployment oriented at both the residential market and the small and medium enterprises (SME), small offices/ home offices (SOHO) and civil service. The anticipated scenario is coverage of the principal centre, secondary centres and isolated points of economic interest (industrial estates, agricultural and livestock installations) to the municipality.
As a final objective, the pursuit to make Broadband internet available to citizens in dispersed areas. For this, it is hoped to implement a quality system that guarantees the parameters with regard to capacity (Broadband) and low communication delays of the services offered. The objectives of citizen accessibility to information are divided generally in the following views:
- General Web surfing such as access to the multitude of information available to the user on the Internet.
- Administrative procedure applications for end-users (e-government)
- File sharing services, one of the Internet's uses main trends.
- Internet videoconferencing services as a key interpersonal communication tool for end-users in disperse areas.
Also, and with the aim of promoting the establishment of a wide range of businesses in these areas, the intention is to provide high-end Internet access service, oriented at companies in need of high performance.
