Itelazpi's Second Corporate Social Responsibility Plan
Friday, 25 November 2011 14:06

The public authority Itelazpi is working on drawing up the organization's Second Corporate Social Responsibility Plan. Two years after addressing the first plan and having achieved the objectives, courses of action that will shape Itelazpi's course over the next few years in terms of social responsibility are being defined

In 2009 ITELAZPI addressed the task of drawing up its first CSR Plan, in keeping with directives issued by the Basque government, and striving to meet the expectations of our stakeholders, in particular Basque society.

At that time, taking into account that it was our first foray into this area and also considering the size of our organisation, after a brief assessment we formulated a CSR proposal that was somewhat limited in terms of its scope and size. Our priority was to address our most evident shortcomings.

Two years on from that initial formulation, it can be said that the objectives of the first Plan have been met successfully and as such, our future CSR policies must evolve accordingly.

To this end, the process of formulating the II Plan is now underway. We have utilised the Xertatu:Adi model as a tool for analysing and reflecting on our CSR performance. This will enable us to analyse in-depth the three facets of CSR: economic, social and environmental, and to adequately meet the expectations of Social Responsibility that our stakeholders have of us.

This process of reflection will lead to the establishment of a set of procedures that will guide ITELAZPI in the future as regards its Social Responsibility. It’s also important to us that our stakeholders participate in this process, in order that they can all eventually share in the fruits of our labour.

The meeting of the Board of Directors, then, which is to be held at the end of the year, will be able to approve a Plan that will consolidate the organisation’s future policies in this area.
