3D television sets will be able to perfectly reproduce humans" eyesight

Television sets will continue becoming obsolete very often. First was the HD Ready (1080i), after that, the Full HD (1080p), the evolution of the accesses (components, HDMI...) or PCMCIA slots for pay services; all of them made the device become obsolete, and now it seems that 3D will empty the pockets of a lot of people. The imminent arrival of 3D Ready televisions will be followed by a lot of technologies of the stereoscopic vision that will make it possible for us to see in 3D.

In 15 or 20 years time, television sets will be able to reproduce almost perfectly the natural visual environment of humans in three dimensions, according to the roadmap settled by the Internal Telecommunication Union (UIT), the United Nations" body for the internal regulation of telecommunications.

Therefore, the last report published by the UIT"s committee in charge of studying the radio communication sector forecasts that before 15 or 20 years, three generations of televisions will appear successively in the market, each of them with a better 3D technology than the previous one, probably even better than the one used in Avatar.

According to the UIT, the first televisions appearing in the market will be the "stereoscopic flat screen" televisions; that is to say, televisions that give two different points of view thanks to some special glasses, similar to those used in 3D cinema. Unlike those first 3D televisions, the second generation will offer several simultaneous points of view, as it happens in real life, when we move our head.

After that generation, in 15 or 20 years time, a third generation will come; the main feature of those devices will be the capacity to register the amplitude, frequency and phase of light waves; that is to say, "some very intelligent systems that are able to faithfully reproduce the way our eyes and brains perceive the visual world", says UIT in its website.
