Telecinco 2 definitively becomes La Siete
Telecinco has definitively adapted corporate identity and name of its DTT Telecinco 2 channel, which after several name changes, will be La Siete from now on.
According to a channel announcement, the change is justified by adaptation to DTT implementation in the Spanish State, in a battle to get the 9 direct access keys of the remote. Therefore, channel order will be as follows from 1 to 7 is Telecinco achieved their goal: La 1, La 2, Antena 3, Cuatro, Telecinco, La Sexta and La Siete.
Apart from changing channel name, they have also changed visual corporate identity, which is a number 7 in red with the same blue ball on its right showing the Telecinco logo. Below the number appears "La Siete" in letters using identical typeface as in the Telecinco corporate image.
This is the third name of Telecinco since its creation after Telecinco Sport and Telecinco 2.
There are other channels which are determined to have seven is their channel identification number, since the six previous are occupied by six general channels which transmitted in analogue. This La Siete will have to compete for the number with Veo, now called Veo7 and some autonomic channels like 7RM (Murcia), Telemadrid or Castilla y León Televisión, which have included 7 in their logos.
However; in some autonomies, things are not usually like that, since the autonomic channels usually have their place among the first numbers on the remote. Thus in many Basque homes keys 3 and 4 correspond to ETB 1 and ETB 2, likewise the Catalans opt for the same numbers (3 and 4) for the autonomic channels TV3 and C33. In these cases keys 1 and 2 are usually for La 1 and La 2, 5 is for Telecinco, Antena 3 is 6, Cuatro is 7 on the remote an 8 is La Sexta.
