Youtube wants to enter television with Youtube XL
Google has increased Youtube quality again with the launching of a version offering greater resolution, especially designed for reproduction on TV sets: XL. Furthermore the company has created an application to use the mobile as a remote.
This is not the first time Google has launched a version of Youtube with a large window, since the last time it was done thinking about Playstation 3 and Wii surfers.
However, although reproduction and surfing were easier and more comfortable, the quality did not improve with this version designed for consoles. Now with XL, whoever uses the video portal on a large screen in their living room or on their computer will be able to view optimum quality videos.
Moreover the search engine company has created an interesting option to use the mobile as a remote. Android Gmote is an application you can control PC or MAC from the Android phone as if it were a remote instead of using a mouse.
Another novelty is Youtube XL offers the possibility of continuous reproduction enabling video search on a theme in Youtube, click play once and then reproduce a sequence of videos related to that theme.
Google declared their interest in improving image quality: ‘We’ve always thought the bigger you can see the better for audiovisual formats. That’s why from now on you can enjoy Youtube in your own living room".
